Germany travelled to Poland and Ukraine with a perfect 100% record in qualification which they carried on into the competition, winning all of their group games against Portugal, Netherlands and Denmark. The Quarter-Finals proved a routine 4-2 win over Euro 2004 champions Greece, before eventual elimination to Cesare Prandelli’s Italian side after a double from striker Mario Balotelli
