The season also saw Manchester City win their fourth straight EFL Cup after beating Tottenham 1-0 in the final. A first Champions League title for the club proved elusive however, making it to the final of the competition for the first time in the clubs history but eventually losing out to Chelsea after the tie finished 1-0 with Kai Havertz scoring the only goal of the game.
